Roger W. Watts, 86, of Mingo Junction, OH passed away Wednesday September 18, 2024 at the Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville, OH.

He was born February 22, 1938 in Toronto, OH a son of the late John R. Watts and Naomi R. (Johns) Pavlik. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-parents, John A. "Art" Pavlik and Beverly Watts; two sisters, Pamela Dawn (Pavlik) Bjelac and Sharyl Watts; and a half-brother, John Watts.

Roger retired from Weirton Steel Corp. where he worked in labor relations. He graduated from Toronto High School in 1956 and retired from the U.S. Naval Reserves after 23 years of service. Roger was a member of Bell Chapel United Methodist Church; the Pilgram Lodge 691; the Union Chapter #15, Union Council # 2 and Commandery #11 of Steubenville, OH; Aladdin Shrine of Columbus and Steubenville Shrine Club. An honorary member of the Steubenville Masonic Lodge #45 F&AM and a 33rd degree member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry in Steubenville.

Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Jo Ann (Gallagher) Watts, whom he married June 28, 1956; three daughters, Vickie (Vince) D'Ortenzio of Steubenville, OH, Renee (Fred) Davis of Bloomingdale, OH and Lynee (Steven) Kahuri of Richwood, WV; a brother, Stephen (Kathleen) Pavlik of Mingo Junction, OH; four grandchildren, Gabriel (Jen) D'Ortenzio, Luca (fiancé Emily) D'Ortenzio, Trista (Steve) Cline and Courtney (Brenden) Davis-Kaufman; and five great-grandchildren, Enzo and Nina D'Ortenzio and Hailey, Beckett and Silas Kaufman.

Friends will be received at Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo Junction, OH on Friday from 3-7 p.m. Masonic services will begin at 6:30 p.m. and 33rd degree services will follow. On Saturday there will be viewing at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of his funeral service at Noon. Interment will follow at Island Creek Cemetery, Toronto.
