Robert W. Shaffer, 80, of New Alexandria, OH, passed away, Wednesday February 24, 2021 at Lancia Villa Royale Nursing Home in Steubenville, OH.

He was born October 5, 1940 in Steubenville, OH, a son of the late Willis and Christine (Lamb) Shaffer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Shaffer.

Robert served his country in the U.S. Navy and also in the U.S. Army Reserves. He retired from Weirton Steel Corp. and was Methodist by Faith.

Surviving are his wife Kathryn "Kathy" (Auvil) Shaffer; a son, Robert M. "Bobbie" (Barbara) Shaffer of Medical Lake, WA; a daughter, Michelle (Steven) Murray of Medical Lake, WA; a brother, James Shaffer of Richmond, OH; a sister, Debra (Paul) Walkup of Brilliant, OH; two grandsons, Phillip James Murray and Christopher Vanscoy; and a daughter whom he raised, Angela Vanscoy of Wintersville, OH.
