Robert L. "Bob" Morgan, 92, of Mingo Junction, OH, passed away Thursday September 19, 2019, in the Valley Hospice Care Center North, Steubenville, OH.
He was born February 15, 1927 in McKeefrey, WV, a son of the late William and Roxy (West) Morgan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Faye (Young) Morgan in 1987; and three siblings, Hubert Morgan, Louise Keller and Lewis Sylva Morgan.
Bob retired from the B.O.F. in Mingo and Steubenville at Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corp in 1989. He served his country in the U.S. Army during W.W.II and was a member of the former Mingo American Legion Post 351 and he is currently a member of the V.F.W. 4811 in Yorkville, OH. He was a very active member of the Lovers Lane Church of Christ for the last 65 years. In his younger days Bob enjoyed woodworking and riding his motorcycle.
Surviving are a son, John Robert (Susie) Morgan of Weirton, WV; two daughters, Janice Lee (Ronald) Hiam and Vernetta Renee Morgan both of Yorkville, OH; two brothers, Floyd (Dean) Morgan of Sauk Village, IL and Lloyd (Janet) Morgan of Moundsville, WV; three sisters, Darlene (Joe) Howard of Parkersburg, WV, Sandra Ferry of Greenfield, WI and Linda Dumas of Naples, FL; four grandchildren, Shad Morgan, Niki (Todd) Burkhart, Brittany Jones and Joseph Pittner; and eight great-grandchildren, Jaiden and Adrienne Morgan, Lindsey, Josie and Carson Burkhart, Lilly and Liana Jones and Isabella Pittner.
Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo Junction, on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his funeral services at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. John Ater, officiating. Entombment will follow at Highland Hills Memorial Gardens in Follansbee, WV, with Military Honors by the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed in Bob's memory to the Teramana Cancer Center, 3204 Johnson Rd., Steubenville, OH 43952.
