Richard William Hockenberry, 70, of New Alexandria, OH, passed away Saturday January 6, 2024 in the emergency room at Weirton Medical Center.

He was born February 22, 1953 in Martins Ferry, OH a son of the George and Peggy "Susie" (Ogden) Hockenberry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ron Hockenberry.

Rich grew up in Rush Run and graduated from Smithfield High School in 1971. He worked as a pipefitter at Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel until he and his wife Marilynda moved to Mesa, AZ in 1980 where he worked in the R.V. business. He and Marilynda moved back to Ohio in the New Alexandria area in 2018.

Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Marilynda (Fox) Hockenberry; two sisters, Lori (Ruben) Ruiz of Chandler, AZ and Lynn (Hockenberry) Ruiz of Mesa, AZ; a brother, Brian Hockenberry of Mesa, AZ; a sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Tom Joiner of Tonto Basin, AZ; four nieces, two nephews, three great-nieces, one great-nephew, and many cousins and friends.

A celebration of life will be planned at a later time.
