Raymond L. Recinella, Sr., 87, of Mingo Junction, OH, passed away Friday December 25, 2020, at Trinity Medical Center in Steubenville, OH.

He was born August 12, 1933 in Mingo Junction, OH, a son of Alfonso and Mary (DiBacco) Recinella, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sons, Billy Rouse, Richie Rouse and Raymond L. Recinella, Jr. on Dec. 21, 2020; two brothers, Alfonso Recinella, Jr. and Phillip Recinella.

Raymond retired in 1998 from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corp. Mingo Junction plant where he was a craneman. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Ray enjoyed going to the dog track at Wheeling Island. He devoted his life to taking care of his son Raymond and he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Eleanor (Ross) Recinella, whom he married May 9, 1959; two daughters, Sharon Recinella and Kathy Recinella-Gaschler; two granddaughters, Allison and Lindsay Gaschler; a grandson, Adam Gaschler, all of Mingo Junction, OH; a brother, James Recinella of Mingo Junction, OH; and a sister, Patricia (David) Griffin of Westerville, OH.

Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo Junction, on Tuesday from 2-5 p.m. and also on Wednesday from Noon until the time of his funeral services at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Fr. James M. Dunfee, officiating. Interment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Masks are absolutely required and we ask that you not linger after you pay your respects.
