Pete A. "Petey" Foglietti, 73, of Mingo Junction, OH, passed away peacefully Saturday December 24, 2022 at home.

Petey was born on March 5, 1949 in Steubenville, OH, the son of the late Pete J and Eness (Petrazzi) Foglietti. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Antonio and Assunta (Orelli) Petrazzi, paternal grandparents, Dante and Assunta (Battalochi) Foglietti, and an infant nephew, Matthew Mazur.

He attended Catholic Central High School and was a 1967 graduate of Mingo High School.  He attended the College of Steubenville. During high school and college, he was a Cordovox accordion player in the Jolly J's and the Elegance bands and later played the organ at the Breaker's Hotel in Sandusky, OH.  In 1976 he began his career as a Chartered Life Underwriter, then later was also a Chartered Financial Consultant and Certified Financial Planner.  He retired to Mingo Junction in 2019.

He is survived by his dearest friend and caregiver Dianne Buck; his sister Pam (Al) Mazur of Newark, OH; and his nieces and nephew of whom he was very proud – Rebecca Mazur of Arlington, MA, Jessica Mazur (Charles Murray) and Joshua Mazur of Newark, OH.

The family would like to thank Theresa Klinesmith, Bernie Ravasio and Wanda Oiler for their caring help through the last few years.

Friends will be received at Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Avenue, Mingo Junction, OH on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of his funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Fr. Jack McCoy, officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Mingo Junction, OH.
