Patricia L. "Patty" Yates, 88 of Mingo Junction, OH, went to be with the Lord on Thursday June 17, 2021 at the Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville, Ohio. She was born March 13, 1933 in Steubenville, OH, a daughter of the late Harry and Marie (Gilmore) Kaiserling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death  by her husband, Paul D. "Captain" Yates, Sr. on January 27, 2013; a son, Richard D. Yates; and nine siblings.

Patty was the former income tax director for the Village of Mingo Junction and a retired secretary for the former Nationwide Insurance, which was owned by Ron Pizzoferrato for 17 years. She was a member of the Mingo First United Presbyterian Church where she was a former Treasurer. She was also a member of the former Raynes United Methodist Church where she also served as Treasurer.

Surviving are a son, Paul (Stephanie) Yates, Jr. of Bloomingdale, OH; two daughters, Janet (Andy) Pavlov of Mingo Junction, OH and Karen (Les) Lash of Columbus, OH; a nephew, Bruce (Pam) Bennett; six grandchildren, Paul (Angie) Yates, III, Ashley Yates, Jenna (David) DiCicco, Cristen (Daniel) Wise, Jonathan (Brandon) Yates, and Heather (Adam) Myers; six step grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo Junction, OH, on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. On Monday there will be viewing at the Mingo First United Presbyterian Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of her funeral services at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Charles Leasure, officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Mingo Junction, OH.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be directed in Patty's memory to the Mingo First United Presbyterian Church, 650 McLister Ave., Mingo Junction, OH 43938, or Valley Hospice Inc., 10686 State Route 150, Rayland, OH 43943.
