"Pat" Moore

Patricia "Pat" Atkins Moore, 78, of Rush Run, Ohio passed away on Tuesday August 13, 2024 at Liza's Place in Wheeling, WV.
Pat was born on November 11, 1945 in Belle, WV, a daughter of the late Archie and Layla Pearl (Asbury) Atkins, Sr..
Pat enjoyed baking, quilting, camping, shopping, manicures, eating out, spoiling the grandchildren and caramel frappes. McDonald's stock is sure to plummet this week. Pat baked Christmas cookies by the dozens cream horns were a favorite. She brought the fun with her themed birthday cakes which included Soccer, Thomas the tank and Barbie.
Summers included camping trips to the Ohio River with her husband and grandchildren. However, her favorite time of the year was 10 days in Warsaw, Ohio attending Church camp where she faithfully worked in the kitchen for 30+ years serving three meals a day. Winters were enjoyed at Florida Holiness Campground.
Pat's servant heart was also on display throughout her lifetime at Meadowbrook Church of God, where her various roles included WCG member, choir member assistant youth leader, nursery worker, VBS kitchen helper, coordinator of funeral dinners, and counting of tithes and offerings.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur "Butch" Moore, Sr.; six sisters, Regina Chestnut, Dolores Miller, Joanne Gibbs, Peggy Tawney, Shirley Good, and Carolyn Tawney; and five brothers, Dennis Atkins, Archie Atkins Jr, Lionel Atkins, Curtis Atkins and Norvelle Atkins.
Surviving are her three children, Wilbur "Butch" (Betsy) Moore Jr of Columbus, Ohio, Richard "Rick" (Brenda) Moore of Westerville, Ohio and Debbie Moore of Wheeling, West Virginia; one sister, Betty Newman; four grandchildren, Michael (Amy) Moore, Ryan Moore, David J. Moore and Sarah J. (Cory) Hinaman; two great grandchildren, Jessamee and Emily Moore; brother-in-law, Jim Moore sisters-in-law, Linda Moore, Dorothy Davis, Phyllis Long, Leona (Bart) Millard and Betty (Keith) Thomas; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Buster.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Kenny Davis and Judy Kolkedy.
Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. On Friday there will be viewing at the Meadowbrook Church of God from 10:00 a.m. until the time of her funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dave Hennen, officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Colerain, OH.
