Kenneth E. "Ken" Yost

Kenneth E. “Ken” Yost, 91, of Brilliant, OH, formerly of Sebring, FL passed away Sunday November 1, 2020 at the Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville, OH.

He was born June 5, 1929 in Steubenville, OH, a son of the late Richard R. and Lida E. (Lewis) Yost. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna “Dee Dee” O’Dell; a step-son, Mike Garza; a brother, Roy Yost; a sister, Dorothy Wilt; and a grandson, David McGregor.

Ken retired from the painters union and enjoyed traveling all over the country for his job. He was a jack of all trades having a TV repair shop and an auto repair and paint shop. If he wanted to learn something new, he read a book and taught himself. He was a former boxer with golden glove awards. Ken enjoyed sitting in his five-acre orange grove in Florida where they grew and sold oranges. Mostly Ken loved adventure and spending time with his family.

Surviving are his wife, Doris (Honea) Yost, whom he married December 16, 1971; four daughters, Patricia (Ron) Johnson of Sanford, FL, Evelyn (Donavan) Seybels of Lancaster, CA, Kay (Jeff) Begin of Brilliant, OH and Violet Horner of Grass Valley, CA; two step-sons, John (the late Debbie) Garza of Brilliant, OH and Mark Garza of Steubenville, OH; two step-daughters, Linda O’Dell of Mingo Junction, OH and Kathy (George) Ridehour of Sebring, FL; a brother, Richard R. “Rick” (the late Eleanor) Yost of Spring Hill, FL; a sister, Violet Arnold of Hamlet, NC; nineteen grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
