Nancy Lee Hanlon (Wheaton), 73, of Steubenville, Ohio, passed away Sunday May 26, 2024, at Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, Ohio.

Nancy was born August 2, 1950 in Steubenville, Ohio, a daughter of late Ralph and Carmella (Potenzina) Wheaton.  She graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1968.

Nancy had an incredibly strong work ethic.  She worked for The Heinz Company in Weirton, West Virginia for 32 years as a shipping supervisor.  She retired in 2012 after many years of dedicated service.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Harold Hanlon, whom she married July 30, 1982; her son, John DiPietro (wife Joanna DiPietro); her daughter, Yvonne Hays (husband John Hays); and her three cherished grandchildren, Allyssa DiPietro, Carsen Hays, and Milanya DiPietro.

Nancy was a member of the First Westminster Presbyterian Church in Steubenville, Ohio where she found solace and a loving community.  She enjoyed spending time with friends at Our Place of Jefferson County. Nancy also enjoyed watching the birds out of her kitchen window and sitting out on her patio around the fire pit.

Friends will be received to celebrate her life at the First Westminster Presbyterian Church, 235 North 4th St. in downtown Steubenville on Friday May 31 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of her funeral service at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Jason Elliott, officiating.

Nancy will be remembered for her love and dedication to her family, her outgoing personality, her kindness toward others and her faith in God.

Memorial contributions may be directed in her memory to First Westminster Presbyterian Church, 235 North 4th St., Steubenville, OH 43952.
