Mary Caroline Hutchison Magro, 90, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2022 at Sienna Skilled Care in Wintersville, OH.

She was born on September 20, 1931 in Steubenville, Ohio to the late Henry and Helen Reed Hutchison. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Henry R. Hutchison and his wife, Lois and her brother James A. Hutchison and his wife, Charlotte.

Mary graduated from Steubenville High School in 1949.  For many years she worked as an administrative assistant at the former Jefferson Technical College in Steubenville but she concluded her working career when she retired from the offices of the Ohio Edison Sammis Plant in Stratton.

She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Dante Magro of Brilliant and his six children Dante Jr, Michelle, David, Diane, Joseph and Andrew and their children, all of Vermont.  Mary is also survived by her two brothers' children, Donald (Diane) Hutchison of Brilliant, Karen (Joe) Chuckery of Maynard, Stephanie (Kenneth) Lane of Bowling Green, Sherry Newton of Sarasota and Jamie (David) Kruger of Cincinnati. She also has many grand nieces and nephews and great grand nieces and nephews whom she loved very dearly.

Mary lived in Brilliant for the majority of her life and was a lifelong member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Brilliant.  One of her passions over the years was to write and send cards to care for her family and friends. She faithfully carried on this ministry to the very end of her life and never missed a birthday, anniversary, important occasion, or any opportunity to encourage a friend.  Her razor-sharp wit and enduring sense of humor will be missed.

Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant on Wednesday from 1-4 p.m. and also on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of her funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. John Ater, officiating. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery in Steubenville, OH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed in Mary's memory to Valley Hospice, 10686 State Route 150, Rayland, OH 43943.
