Mary Ann Ferroni, 91, of Mingo Junction, Ohio, passed away peacefully Tuesday December 7, 2021 at home surrounded by her family.

She was born July 17, 1930 in Steubenville, OH a daughter of the late George Rouse and Ruth (Erwin) Merzi. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Medico Merzi; her husband, Alfonso J. Ferroni; a son. David J. Ferroni, Sr.; and a brother, Dr. Allen Merzi.

Mary Ann was the owner and operator of the Argo Café in Mingo. After her retirement she was a head cook at the former St. Agnes School and she also cooked for the priests and nuns at the church. She was a very active member and volunteer at St. Agnes Catholic Church and a member of the Catholic Womens Club where she was past president. She loved cooking for her family.

Surviving are three children, Ruth (Paul) Ferroni Sogan of Westerville, OH, Robert (Stefanie) Ferroni of Wintersville, OH and Becky (Al) Pietro of Mingo Junction, OH; a daughter-in-law, Yvonne Ferroni of Dayton, OH; a sister, Martha (the late Bill) Reasinger of Gahanna, OH; a sister-in-law, Judith Merzi of Washington, PA; three grandsons, David "Boss" (Paula) Ferroni, Jr., Adrian "Ziggy" Ferroni and Brent "Boo" Ferroni; five great-grandchildren, Morgan, David, Amelia, Evan and Giulia; and two great-great-grandchildren, Elliana and Violette.

Friends will be received at Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo Junction, OH on Thursday from 2-7 p.m. On Friday there will be viewing at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 204 St. Clair Ave., Mingo Junction, OH from 10:00 a.m. until the time of her Funeral Liturgy with Mass at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Fr. James M. Dunfee, celebrant. Entombment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Steubenville, OH.

There will be a vigil service on Thursday at 6:45 at the funeral home.
