Marjorie L. "Margie" Dennis, 85, of Brilliant, OH, passed away Friday August 14, 2020 at the Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville, OH.
She was born June 22, 1935 in Adena, OH, a daughter of the late Fred and Anna (Kernya) Utter, Sr. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. "Bob" Dennis, Sr.; a brother, Fred Utter, Jr.; a sister, Dolores Blawut; and a great-granddaughter, Kendall Ring.
Margie worked at the former Hart's Department Store; she worked in the cafeteria at the former Buckeye North High School; and retired from the former Hills Department Store. She also worked with her close friend Jean Vogt doing catering. She was a member of Harmony Methodist Church and in T.O.P.S. in Toronto for several years. Margie enjoyed sewing and baking.
Surviving are three sons, Robert (Lorraine) Dennis, Jr. of Richmond, OH, Michael P. (Mary) Dennis of New Rumley, OH and Raymond (Penny Kay) Dennis, Sr. of Brilliant, OH; a daughter, Janice (Robert) Maxwell of Mingo Junction, OH; a brother, John (Shirley) Utter of Adena, OH; a sister-in-law, Betty Dennis of Yorkville, OH; sixteen grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Valley Hospice for the wonderful care they gave Margie. They would especially like to thank Missy Nanney for helping take care of Margie at home.
Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St. Brilliant, OH on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. There will also be viewing on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of her funeral services at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Sam Davis, officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Colerain, OH.
Masks are required and please observe social distancing. Please do not linger at the funeral home after you pay your respects.
