Margo E. (Garner) Kavanas, 73, of Rayland, OH, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at home.

She was born July 24, 1952 in Martins Ferry, OH, a daughter of the late Russell and Alberetta (Specht) Garner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Irene, Lois, Annice, Ruth and Kathy; and four brothers, Russell, Tom, Richard, Sr. and Ernie.

She enjoyed sewing, researching her family genealogy, watching The Curse of Oak Island and especially treasured the time she spent with her daughter, Georgette.

Surviving are her daughter, Georgette (Bryan) Walters of Brilliant, OH; three brothers, Fred (Debra) Garner of Rayland, OH, Charles Garner of Wellsburg, WV and David (Maureen) Garner of Benton, ME; and three sisters, Barbara (Joe) Douglas of Pratt, WV, Carol Drummond of Bridgeport, OH and Linda Zaremba of Utica, MI.

Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant, OH, on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of her funeral service at 4:00 p.m. with Larry Walters, officiating.
