Lula M. "Mama Lu" Roe, 78, of Mingo Junction, OH, passed away Sunday March 8, 2026 at home.

She was born December 6, 1947 in Steubenville, OH, a daughter of the late Marvin E. and Betty J. (Thress) Tucker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. Roe on July 26, 2024; and three brothers, Dr. William Tucker, Marvin Tucker, and Ronald Tucker.

Mama Lu retired in 2010 from the Carriage Inn of Steubenville where she worked in the business office. She attended the Word of Life Fellowship in Steubenville, OH. Lu enjoyed reading, family game night, singing and she especially loved her grandchildren.

Surviving are four children, Christine Moses of Gainesville, VA, Sheri (Robert) Butrey of Avon, OH, Robert E. Moses of New Alexandria, OH and Rebecca Moses of New Alexandria, OH; one brother, Lewis Tucker and his wife Marilou Sharot of New Cumberland, WV; two sisters, Karen (Tim) Randolph of Bloomingdale, OH and Helen (Roger) Randolph of Birmingham, AL; nine grandchildren, Joshua Butrey, Peyton Butrey, Alex Rose, Erik Moses, Nathanial, Bethany, Megan, Jessalyn and Zachary Tepley; and a great-grandson, Shaedon Rose.

A celebration of Lu's life will be held at Le Chateau Pier, 1195 State Route 151, Smithfield, OH on Saturday March 21st from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. There will be a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Gary Lily, officiating. Feel free to bring a peanut free dessert to share.
