Lois J. "Jeane" Smith, 87, of Mingo Junction, OH, passed away peacefully Wednesday January 6, 2021 at the home of her daughter Bonnie.

She was born January 10, 1933 in Steubenville, OH, a daughter of the late Jack and Jesse (Lodge) Rouse. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde L. "Smitty" Smith on November 15, 2007; six brothers, Joseph, Ronald "Beano", Bob, George, Scotty and Bill Rouse; two sisters, Maryann Light and Harriet "Pooch" Stacey; and a great-grandson.

Jeane retired from the bakery department at the former Big Bear Store in Wintersville. She was a member of Prime Time and enjoyed sewing, crafting and traveling.

Surviving are her five children, Barbara Smith of Brilliant, OH, Bonnie (Donnie) Zavolta of Mingo Junction, OH, David L. Smith and his companion Sherry Ridge of Tucson, AZ, Donna Hanlin of Bloomingdale, OH and Douglas A. Smith of Brilliant, OH; a brother, Donald Rouse of Mingo Junction, OH; eight grandchildren, Derrick "Sean" (Erin) Moores, Jason (Denise) Moores, Jeramy Risdon, Dusty Welling and his companion Rae Birchard, Levi (Tereza) Welling, Jeremiah (Tara) Smith, Matthew Smith, and Jordan (Abby) Hanlin; twenty five great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

In following with Jeane's wishes there will be no services.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wheeler Funeral Homes, Mingo Junction.
