Lillian R. "Lilly" Humes, 94, of Georges Run, Ohio, passed away peacefully Thursday November 9, 2017 at Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville, OH.

She was born February 17, 1923 in Mingo Junction, Ohio, a daughter of the late Jefferson and Edna (Shively) Wells. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Ralph Humes on October 9, 2008; a son, David C. Humes; a brother, Donald V. Wells; and a grandson, Joseph E. Humes.

Lillian was a homemaker and she also worked as an office manager with her late husband Ralph at Humes Van Lines. She was also a 30 year member of Finley United Methodist Church in Steubenville, Ohio.

Surviving are two sons, Eugene (Nancy) Humes of New Alexandria, OH and Pastor Harry (Eleanor) Humes of Harrodsburg, KY; a daughter, Dana Cangley of Wheeling, WV; a sister, Bessie Danley of Steubenville, OH; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be announced in the spring of 2018 and held at Finley Church. Private burial at Union Cemetery, Steubenville.
