Kenneth J. "Ken" Carter, 86, of New Alexandria, OH, passed away Saturday December 17, 2022 at home surrounded by his family.

He was born May 1, 1936 in Georges Run, OH a son of the late Joseph S. and Maxine H. (Mumaw) Carter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie L. Carter on June 17, 2005.

Ken retired in 1997 after 16 years as a field engineer for Beaver Excavating out of Canton, OH. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and was an avid sports fan.

He is survived by two daughters, Kimberly (Clint) Van Dine and Diana Hacker; a brother, Jack (Janette) Carter; two sisters, Janet Wells and Tammy (Ronald) Sismondo; five grandchildren, Allison, Madison and Zander Van Dine, Lyndsey (Michael) Meredith and Chelsea (Marc) Gumucio; six great-grandchildren; Nicolas, Elaina and Addison Meredith, Graham, Lucas and Amaya Gumucio;  many nieces and nephews; and his companion, Sandy Paris.

In following with Ken's wishes private services were held at Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant. Burial followed at New Alexandria Cemetery.
