Kenneth Richard Hilliard, 65, of Georges Run, Ohio, formerly of Brilliant, OH, passed away Wednesday July 5, 2017, unexpectedly at home.

He was born February 17, 1952 in Steubenville, OH, a son of the late Kenneth R. and Sarah E. (Swisher) Hilliard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his longtime companion, Terry Keller.

Richard recently retired as maintenance manager at WTOV9; was a former bar manager for the Steubenville Country Club; was a bartender and did maintenance at Froehlich's Classic Corner; and was the former owner of the Convenient Store in Brilliant. He graduated from Brilliant High School in 1970 and attended Ohio University. Richard was an active member of St. Agnes Catholic Church where he was a Eucharist Minister. He was also a former member of the Brilliant Fire Department where he served as Treasurer.

Surviving are a son, Addison Keller of Georges Run, OH; four siblings, Diane (Michael) Wright of Marblehead, OH, Keith (Pam) Hilliard of Rayland, OH, Kriss (Dan) Otto of Rayland, OH and Dave Hilliard of Brilliant, OH; and nieces and nephews, Amy, Rebecca, Timothy, Josh, Jacob, Jordan, Seth, Hannah, Sarah, Coltin and Cale.

Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant, on Friday from 5-8 p.m. On Saturday everyone is to meet at St. Agnes Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. for his Funeral Liturgy with Mass with Fr. Walter Heinz and Rev. Fr. James Dunfee, as celebrants. Interment will follow at New Alexandria Cemetery.
