Keith D. Gardner, 58, of Brilliant, OH, passed away Tuesday August 11, 2026 at WVU Weirton Medical Center in Weirton, WV.

He was born April 2, 1968, in Steubenville, OH, a son of the late Glenn Cecil Gardner and Sandra Lee (Patton) Clark.

Keith proudly served his country in the U.S. Army before building a long career in the tree industry. Known for his skill as a tree trimmer, he worked for many years as a supervisor with Asplundh in North Carolina. He was also a former member of Brilliant American Legion Post 573. Keith loved being outdoors, especially hunting and target shooting, and he found joy in simple moments spent in nature. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife of almost 40 years, Kimberly (Smythe) Gardner, whom he married September 12, 1986; a daughter, Autumn Cabra and her companion Steve Parrot of Circleville, OH; a son, Gage Gardner of Brilliant, OH; four brothers, Glenn Gardner of Flecher, NC, Charles Gardner of Hendersonville, NC, Ryan Gardner and his companion Lori Jepson of Brilliant, OH and Josh (Jessica) Gardner of Piney Fork, OH; five grandchildren, Michelle Price, Stormy Cabra, Alexis Gardner, Chloe Dorris, Karson Marion and Laim Gardner; and two great-grandchildren, Sayla and Amara.

There will be a private celebration of life for family and friends at a later date.
