Karl L. Wiseman, 76, of Steubenville, OH, passed away Monday September 28, 2026 at U.P.M.C. Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

He was born April 27, 1950 in Simpson, WV, a son of the late Juel and Georgia (McDaniel) Wiseman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Milford “Eddy” Wiseman, Betty Felton and Beverly Wiseman.

Karl worked as an outside order checker in the slab yard of the 80-inch mill, first for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. and later for Severstal. In addition to proudly serving his country in the U.S. Army, he attended Mingo First United Presbyterian Church and was a member of the mill’s Zoar Club and Steubenville American Legion Post 33. Outside of work and community life, Karl enjoyed fly fishing, attending Big Red football games, playing euchre on Mondays, and gathering for breakfast at Yorgo’s on Saturday mornings.

Surviving are his wife, Eileen (Brockway) Wiseman, his companion of 25 years, whom he married on June 11, 2022; a daughter, Jennifer Jukes; a step-son, Aaron (Jennifer) Nestor of Columbus, OH; six siblings, Donald (Izetta) Wiseman of Rosemont, WV, Dorotha Vincent of Steubenville, OH, Wanita “Gail” (Donnie) Kittle of Simpson, WV, Melvin (LaDonna) Wiseman of Simpson, WV, Rita (Randy) Gray of Rosemont, WV and Shirley Marks of Grafton, WV; three grandchildren, Albert Jukes III, Marshall Jukes and Rhiannon (Kevin) Stafford; two step-grandchildren, Braden Nestor and Joshua Nestor; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and two great-great-nieces.

Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo Junction, OH on Monday October 5th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

On Wednesday October 7th there will be viewing at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home, 950 George Washington Hwy, Grafton, WV from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his funeral service at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Vaughn Foster, officiating. Full military honors will be accorded by the WV Army National Guard Camp Dawson and Taylor County Honor at the WV National Cemetery in Grafton, WV.
