Karen M. Hunt, 77, of Brilliant, OH passed away Wednesday December 6, 2017 at home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born July 26, 1940 in New Alexandria, OH, a daughter of the late H. John Bradley and Martha (Melching) Bradley of Brilliant, OH. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, D. Lee Hunt; and a brother, Dennis Bradley.
Karen worked at the former OK Carry Out in Brilliant. She was a very active member of the Brilliant Christian Church where she was the former secretary for 15 years, sang in the choir, and was a deaconess. Karen enjoyed card club outings with her friends at the community center. Some of her favorite things were her kids, grandkids, dogs and cooking. Her children and grandchildren affectionately refer to her as Momma K. In addition to raising four of her own children, she also fostered sixteen.
In addition to her mother Martha, she is survived by four children, Bill (Linda) Hunt, Minister of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, Martha Hunt of Brilliant, OH, Lee Paul (Tiffany) Hunt, Minister of Gray, TN and Bradley (Jodi) Hunt, Assistant Fire Marshall and Chaplin of Rockwell, NC; two brothers, John "Jay" (Alice) Bradley of LaGrange, OH and Galen "Butch" (Barbara) Bradley of Wears Valley, TN; three sisters, Carol (Andy) Holzapfel of Wellston, OH, Phyllis (William) Martin of Centennial, CO; and Margaret (Ralph "Sonny") Nickoson of Brilliant, OH; a sister-in-law, Donna Bradley of Avon Lake, OH; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; three step-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant, on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and also on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of her funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with her sons Bill and Lee Paul Hunt, officiating. Interment will follow at New Alexandria Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Carriage Inn of Steubenville Activity Dept., 3102 St. Charles Dr., Steubenville, OH 43952.
