Julianna "Dolly" Parfenick, 92, of Mingo Junction, Ohio passed away Sunday May 17, 2020 at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born December 3, 1927 in Chartiers Twp. PA, a daughter of the late Emil and Mary (Zedniak) Cregut. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life John Parfenick whom she married on September 4, 1945; he passed away March 23, 1989. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Daniel "Sonny" Cregut; two sisters, Rosella Pabian and Emily Garcia; and an infant brother and sister.
Dolly was a homemaker and she enjoyed bingo. She was a very active member of the Mingo First United Presbyterian Church where she formally served as a deacon, sang in the choir, was on the pulpit committee, and cooked and baked for the nutroll sales and spaghetti dinners at the church.
She enjoyed spending time with Sherri, her daughter and best friend. Along with Sherri she shared many special times with her loving granddaughters and caretakers April, Amanda and Brittany.
Surviving are a son, John (Donna) Parfenick of Wintersville, OH; a daughter, Sherri (Louie) Vella of Mingo Junction, OH; a brother, Michael Cregut of Girard, OH; two sisters, Maryann (Dale) Russell of Boca Raton, FL and Mary Alice (Albert) Trader of Ashtabula, OH; five grandchildren, April (Dr. Derek) Powell, Amanda (Bill) Brockway, Brittany (Brian) Rupert, Harry "Bucky" (Kellie) Brockway and Jeanie (Bob) Dyer; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic private services will be held at Wheeler Funeral Home with Pastor Kenn Sickle, officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Mingo.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed in Dolly's memory to the Mingo First United Presbyterian Church, 650 McLister Ave., Mingo Junction, OH 43938.
