Judith L. Rauch, 80, of Smithfield, Ohio, formerly of Mingo Junction, Ohio, passed away Friday August 12, 2016 at St. Marys Alzheimers Care Center in Columbiana, Ohio.

She was born August 22, 1935 in Mingo Junction, Ohio, a daughter of the late Jarvis and Mildred "Frances" (Murray) Shawhan.

Judy was a graduate of West Liberty State College, with a Masters Degree in Nursing. She taught nursing at the former Jefferson Technical Institute and practiced nursing at the former Ohio Valley and St. John's Hospitals. She was a member of the Smithfield Presbyterian Church; and enjoyed caring for her family, cooking and reading.

Surviving are her husband, Robert C. Rauch; a son, Robert G. "Greg" Rauch of Steubenville, Ohio; a daughter, Gretchen Rauch of Phoenix, AZ; two sisters, Janet (Dr. James) Brettell of Little Rock, AK and Frances "Kay" (James) Robinson of Burke, VA; two grandchildren, Aaron (Laurie) Cypher and Morgan Taylor Rauch; and a great-granddaughter, Aislin Cypher.

Private services and burial took place on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the New Alexandria Cemetery, with Rev. Mike Elder, officiating.
