Josephine S. "Josie" Kovach, 89, of Brilliant, Ohio, passed away Friday July 19, 2019 at Sienna Skilled Care in Wintersville, OH.

She was born July 4, 1930, in Rochester, PA a daughter of the late Alex and Stella (Golinski) Rudnicki. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Steven D. Kovach, Sr.; and two brothers, Alexander and Joseph Rudnicki.

Josie was a manager at the former Islay's in Mingo Junction and a Homemaker. She was a member of the former Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Brilliant and St. Agnes Catholic Church in Mingo Junction. Josie enjoyed lottery tickets, cooking, baking and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers Fan.

Surviving are three sons, Bryan Kovach, Sr. of Brilliant, OH, Steven Kovach, Jr. of Mingo Junction, OH, and Douglas (Mirashan) Kovach of Coppers Cove, TX; four brothers, Walter Rudnicki, Richard (Valerie) Rudnicki, Francis (Essie) Rudnicki and Thomas Rudnicki; two sisters, Jessie Kochanowski and Mary Ann Rudnicki;

eleven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at Wheeler Funeral Homes, 712 Third St., Brilliant, OH on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of her funeral service at 7:00 p.m., with Rev. Fr. James M. Dunfee, officiating. Private interment at Oakland Cemetery, in Mingo Junction, OH.
