John J. Romanda, 83, of Mingo Junction, OH, passed away Monday August 2, 2021 at Sienna Skilled Nursing Home in Wintersville, OH.

He was born July 14, 1938 in Toronto, OH a son of the late John M. and Catherine (Kalifert) Romanda. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha "Marty" (Kopcha) Romanda on September 5, 2013; and three sisters, Ellen Dobbs, Eleanor Kovarik and Dorothy Yarosz.

John worked at the Titanium Plant in Toronto and also at Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corp. In addition, he was a self-employed service repair man, enjoyed working on cars, and bowling competitively. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. John was a member of St. Andrew Orthodox Church.

Surviving are four children, Marcy (Brad) Shaffer of Romney, IN, Victoria Romanda of Copley, OH, John C. Romanda of Houston, TX and Joseph Matthew Romanda of Mingo Junction, OH; and six grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo Junction, on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of his funeral service at 11:30 a.m. with V. Rev. John Kopcha, officiating. Interment will follow at St. Andrew Orthodox Cemetery in Mingo Junction.
