John F. Palcic, Sr., 86, of Brilliant, OH, passed away Thursday May 18, 2017 at home.

He was born November 30, 1930 in Steubenville, OH, a son of the late George M. and Stella L. (Truskowski) Palcic. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edna (Tolman) Palcic; and two daughters, Diane Hague and an infant, Mary Virginia Palcic.

John retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corp. in 1990, where he was a crane operator. He was Catholic by Faith. John enjoyed going on bus trips to the casinos, gambling at Wheeling Downs; spending time with his family and friends at the Brilliant Boat Club; and cheering on the Cleveland Indians.

Surviving are a son, John F. (Melissa) Palcic, Jr. of Mingo Junction, OH; a daughter, Fran (Rodney) Fannon of Pasadena, TX; a brother, George J. Palcic of Brilliant, Ohio; eight grandchildren, John Thomas (Tera) Palcic, Cody Jordan Palcic, Jaime Chipps, Crystal Hague, Mandy (David) Byrd, Joseph Monroe, Rick (Stephanie) Lundy and Shaun (fiancé Melissa) Lundy; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant, on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. and also on Monday from 12:00 p.m. (Noon) until the time of his funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Fr. James M. Dunfee, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
