Jean Vogt, 82, of Mingo Junction, Ohio, passed away Monday April 11, 2016 at her home.

She was born July 30, 1933 in Cumberland, Ohio, a daughter of the late Virgil and Edith (Mills) Brownrigg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Vogt in 2002; and her brother, Dale Brownrigg in 2013.

Jean was a member of the New Alexandria Methodist Church. She was a former member of the New Alexandria Women's Club, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and Liberty and Pomona Granges, American Legion Auxiliary and 8 and 40.

Jean started working at the age of fifteen and worked many jobs including, Kresge's, Green Mill Restaurant, Erwins, Carpenter's District Council, Buckeye Local School District and owned her own business, Jean's Gift and Floral Shop.

Jean is survived by two daughters, Denise Smith and Renee' (David) Benedict, both of Mingo Junction, OH; three grandchildren, Erin (David Pittner) Smith, Kyle (Jessica) Benedict and Kurt (Jessica Spencer) Benedict; seven great-grandchildren, Emma and Elise Pittner, Lainey, Mavrick and Gemma Benedict, Spencer and Steven Benedict; a sister, Beverly Pringle of Baker City, Oregon; sister-in-law, Kathleen Brownrigg of Naples, FL; and two brothers-in-law, Fred Vogt of Steubenville, OH and Gerald (Linda) Vogt of Mingo Junction, OH.

Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant, on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and also on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of her funeral services at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bob Carson, officiating. Interment will follow at New Alexandria Cemetery.
