Janie K. Mayle, 59, of Bloomingdale, OH passed away Monday January 15, 2018 in the emergency room at Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, Ohio.
She was born August 2, 1958 in Steubenville, Ohio, a daughter of Earl R. and Agnes (Crawford) Mayle of Brilliant, OH.
Janie graduated from Buckeye North High School in 1976, and then went to work for Voto Sales. Over the past 41 years she has worked at Voto in various capacities diligently working her way from receptionist, inside sales, Secretary to the Board of Directors, Corporate Secretary, Vice President of Sales to her current position President/CEO of Voto Sales. Janie took over the Presidency during a difficult time and led the company into some of its most prosperous years. She cared very deeply about the Voto family and she will be missed more than words can express. She was not just a boss but a good friend as well. She supported the United Way, A Caring Place, Urban Mission, and various others that were associated with animals and children. She served on the Community Improvement Corporation and Jefferson County Safety Council.
Janie loved going to the Rhode Island Beaches each summer spending the week with her family. She enjoyed traveling, rooting for the Steelers, and going to craft shows with her friends Nora and Mel. She loved her two dogs or "her boys" as she referred to them, Marshall and Maxwell.
In addition to her parents Earl and Agnes, she is survived by her companion and husband of 35 years, John Woods; a step-son, Matthew (Patty) Woods of Frankfurt, OH; two brothers, Earl James (Marian) Mayle of Oregon, OH and Thomas (Mary) Mayle of Savanah, GA; a nephew, Bradley (Cheyenne) Mayle; four nieces, Marcie Mayle, Mary Kate (Chris) Woloszyn, Lisa Dowell and Meghan Mayle; several great-nieces and nephews; two brother-in-law's, David (Michelle) Woods and Robert (Karen) Woods; a sister-in-law, Nina Bruno, and many nieces and nephews who loved her very much.
Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of her funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Bob Carson, officiating. Private interment will follow at New Alexandria Cemetery.
