Helen L. McDiffitt, 86, of Rayland, OH, passed away, Thursday May 23, 2019 at the Mercy Medical Center in Canton, OH.

She was born July 15, 1932 in Elizabethton, TN, a daughter of the late Conley R. and Lola C. (McGuire) Parlier. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman P. McDiffitt, who passed away June 11, 2017; and six siblings.

Helen was a homemaker and she also worked at the former Coffee Pot and the former Mulls Grocery Store both in Brilliant, OH.  She was an avid reader and belonged to the Brilliant Library. She was also a great quilter blessing everyone around her with her handmade creations for 35 years.

Surviving are six children, Dinah (Sam) Keyser of East Springfield, OH, Jodette (Jack) Gallagher of Marion, IL, Brenda (Terry) Burwell of Canton, OH, Jeff (Tami) McDiffitt of Green, OH, Chris McDiffitt of Rayland, OH and Kevin (Shara) McDiffitt of Columbus, OH; three sisters, Betty Cox of Gates City, VA, Irene Reed and Carol McLaughlin both of Elizabethton, TN; nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received on Saturday June 1st at Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant, from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. There will be a dinner from 4-6 p.m. at the Brilliant Methodist Church, 525 Labelle St., Brilliant.
