Obituary

Helen L. (Julian) Ciafardone, 96, of Mingo Junction, Ohio passed away peacefully Sunday January 5, 2020 at Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born May 2, 1923 in Steubenville, OH, a daughter of the late Fred and Enrica (Isopi) Julian. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Attilio M. Ciafardone on April 29, 2008; three sisters, Elizabeth Cortez and twins Mary and Dora Julian; and a grandson, Ryan Cipriani.

Helen worked for four years in the clerical department at Weirton Steel Corp, then she was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church. She was a wonderful and kind mother with a heart of gold, thinking of everyone but herself.

Surviving are a son, Fred (Debra) Ciafardone of Mingo Junction, OH; a daughter, Shirley (John) Cipriani of Follansbee, WV, with whom she resided; a granddaughter, Amy (David) Klug; and two great-grandchildren, Chase and Caden Klug, all of Moon Twp, PA.

The family would like to thank Dr. William Johns, the staff at Trinity Medical Center West and the Carriage House for the wonderful care they gave Helen.

Friends will be received on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo Junction where her services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Timothy Shannon, officiating. Entombment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Steubenville, OH.
