Genevieve L. Fristick, 86, of Mingo Junction, Ohio passed away Thursday June 2, 2016 at home.

She was born June 12, 1929 in Smithfield, Ohio, a daughter of the late Edward and Mae (Martin) Morgan, Sr.. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence P. Fristick; two brothers, Richard and Edward Morgan, Jr.; and two sisters, Darlene Dagan and Shirley Ogden.

Genevieve was a homemaker and a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church. She was past president of the American Legion Post; past Steubenville Township Trustee; past secretary of the Mingo Senior Center; past member of the Shanagu Club; past treasurer of the Mingo Community Days Committee in the 70's (30 years); and lifelong member of the Democratic Party. She volunteered by delivering Christmas baskets to the needy, worked spaghetti dinners at St. John's Arena and the Mingo Village employees picnic. Genevieve also received a certificate from the governor for naming the Veterans Memorial Bridge and she loved going to the ocean.

Surviving are four children, Christine L. Stanton, Mark L. Fristick, Kurt L. Fristick and Eric L. (Teresa) Fristick; five grandchildren, Michael Fristick, Edward Holston, Eric Holston, Thomas Stanon and Sarah Fristick-McDowell; six great-grandchildren, Shaun Tustin, Brandon Holston, Trenton Wood Stanton, Jordan Stanton, Jace Stanton, and Carley Roe Holston; and a sister, Edith Morgan.

Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo Junction, on Monday June 6th from 10:00 a.m. until the time of her funeral services at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Fr. James M. Dunfee, officiating. Entombment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
