Gary L. Gardner, 74, of Brilliant, OH, passed away Tuesday December 3, 2024 in the emergency room at Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville, OH.

He was born August 22, 1950, in Cleveland, OH, a son of the late David "Duck" and Sara (Bowery) Gardner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn C. Gardner.

Gary worked for 41 years as a millwright in the oil cellar at Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corp. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting and golfing. He loved watching the Pittsburgh Steelers with his family. He especially enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports.

Surviving are his wife whom he has shared 42 years with, Linda (Hanlin) Gardner; five children, Richard "Shane" Gardner of St. Clairsville, OH, Lyndi Casey of Steubenville, OH, John Stout of Brilliant, OH, Alishia (Michael) Haines of Brilliant, OH, and Ami (Jesse) Cline of Toronto, OH; a granddaughter whom he helped raise, Jessi (Cody) Nelms of Brilliant, OH; ten grandchildren, Jacob Gardner, Zachary Thompson, Chase Gardner, Nash Dehnart, Logan Dehnart, Ethan Stout, Parker Stout, Kade Haines, Gage Cline and Ava Cline; and four great-grandchildren, Zylah Dehnart, Paxton Nelms, Wheilyn Gardner and Zachary Gardner.

To honor Gary's wishes funeral services will be private. Interment at New Alexandria Cemetery.
