Gary E. "Fur" Gotschall, 82, of Steubenville, Ohio passed away Thursday September 22, 2016 at Villa Vista Nursing Home in Steubenville, Ohio.

He was born October 31, 1933 in Mingo Junction, Ohio, a son of the late Floyd R. and Pera M. (Stephens) Morris. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two daughters, Pamela Shoemaker and Connie Gotschall.

Gary worked for 38 years as a guide setter in the Hot Mill at Weirton Steel Corp. and National Steel Corp. After his retirement he worked for 10 years for the Jefferson County Highway Department. He also worked for Ambulance Service and Jefferson Security for many years. He was a former member of the New Alexandria Community Chapel.

Surviving are his wife, Alice (Andriano) Gotschall, whom he married on May 13, 1967; a daughter, Sandy (Joe Sagun) Gotschall of Mingo Junction, OH; a son, Robert (Diane) Gotschall of Steubenville, Ohio; four grandchildren, Alisandra Sagun, Mason Shoemaker, Robert Gotschall and David Gotschall; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jo Anne Means of Steubenville, Ohio and Gay-nell Hanson of Zanesville, Ohio; and two nephews, John Andriano and his fiancé Abby Bevilacqua and David (Samie) Andriano.

Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo Junction on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his funeral services at Noon with Fr. Thomas Nau, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Steubenville.
