Frankie Joe "Joe" Featner, 55, of Mingo Junction, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday November 5, 2025 at Aultman Hospital in Canton, OH.

He was born on January 8, 1970, in Steubenville, Ohio. He graduated from Mingo High School in 1988, where he excelled in football and held multiple records. He continued his athletic career at Marshall University and later earned his Bachelor's degree from West Liberty State College.

Joe worked as a Field Chemist with Clean Harbors for 25 years and was most recently employed by Clean Earth Environmental Solutions. He was an active member of Kolmont Community Church and the G.K.L. Wildlife Club.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and playing Euchre. He was also a passionate collector of Invicta watches and baseball caps. Joe was a devoted fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He loved to tease, and when push came to shove between clothes and flower buying it was a toss-up.

He will be greatly missed by his parents, Frank and Jackie (Kough) Featner of Mingo Junction, OH; a sister, Heather (William "Sul") Sullivan of Steubenville, OH; his companion of 25 years, Tami Aleksiejczyk of Mingo Junction, OH and her two sons, Frank Aleksiejczyk of West Pittsburg, PA and Daniel Aleksiejczyk of Athens, OH; a special aunt, Cherrie Kough of Toronto, OH; his furry K-9 friend, Java; and many aunts and cousins.

Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Avenue, Mingo Junction, OH on Sunday from 2-6 p.m. and also on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Herb Fletcher, officiating. Interment will follow at New Alexandria Cemetery.
