"Bud" Mason
June 27, 1937 – December 15, 2024
Emery S. "Bud" Mason was called home by the Lord on Sunday December 15, 2024, at the age of 87.
He was born June 27, 1937 in Beckley, WV a son of the late Alma (Delaughter) Mason and Emery McClung. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Joseph Mason; two brothers, William McClung and Robert McClung; two sisters, Doris Gasbarro and Betty Shannon; and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Fithen.
Emery served as an usher for several years at Finley Church on Lincoln Avenue in Steubenville, Ohio, where he was an active member for over 50 years and also a member of the Gideons. He often entertained family and friends by playing his guitar and singing with his wife for the Lord. His optimism and sense of humor brightened the lives of those around him. He was a man of many talents, whether it was fixing cars or remodeling homes. He will be missed by many.
He was a wonderful husband and a Loving father who always put others first.
Emery is survived by his loving wife of over 63 years, Bonnie J. (Fithen) Mason, a son, Emery T. "Troy" (Amy) Mason of Bloomingdale, OH; a daughter, April E. (Gary) Stern of Las Vegas, NV; a sister, Donna (Richard) Wade of Ivanhoe, NC; two sisters-in-law, Sandra Finn of Mingo Jct., OH and Bonnie McClung of Columbia, PA; three grandchildren, Emery K. "Kenny" Mason of Bloomingdale, OH, John D. Ward of Wintersville, OH, and Amanda G. Creamer of Las Vegas, NV.
Friends will be received at Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Avenue, Mingo Junction, OH on Wednesday from 3-7 p.m. On Thursday there will be viewing at Finley Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Greg Kasler, officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Steuben Burial Estates in Wintersville, OH.
