Eleanor M. “Ellie” Polito, 76, of Rush Run, OH, passed away Wednesday May 13, 2026, at the home of her sister Debra in Bloomingdale, OH.

She was born April 22, 1950 in New Martinsville, WV, a daughter of the late Robert L. and Phyllis M. (Parr) Eastham Hallmark. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richmond K. “Rich” Polito, Sr.; two brothers, Robert “Gene” Eastham and William “Bill” Eastham; and a granddaughter, Madison Brooke Carson.

Ellie was a devoted homemaker and a longtime member of the Church of Christ. She was the happiest being outside watching the birds, casting a line while fishing, or simply sitting on the porch and taking it all in. Her love of lighthouses and black bears showed up in the little treasures she enjoyed collecting. Above everything, Ellie adored her grandchildren and the time spent with family, and she truly cherished the big gatherings that brought everyone together.

Surviving are two sons, Rick Polito, Jr. and his fiancé Christina Chambers of Asheboro, NC and Robert (Angie) Polito of Seagrove, NC; a daughter, Lori Ann Lowrance and her husband Shannon of Taylorsville, NC; four siblings, Nancy (the late David, Jr.) Mains of Rayland, OH, Debra (Chuck) Snider of Bloomingdale, OH, Roger (Samantha) Eastham of Rayland, OH and Linda (Dan) McCain of Mingo Junction, OH; a sister-in-law, Frostie Eastham of Rush Run, OH; three grandsons, Brandon Polito, Peyton Pittman, and Chase Lowrance; and three granddaughters, Emily Mae (Elias) Smith, Shayanne Keri Polito and Paige Lowrance; a great-grandson, Liam Smith; and several nieces and nephews that leaned on her for good advice.

Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant, OH on Friday from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. and also from 3 p.m. until the time of her funeral service at 5 p.m. p.m. with Tom Thompson, Elder at Hopedale Church of Christ, officiating. Private interment at Holly Memorial Gardens in Colerain, OH.
