Eleanor Y. Mathias, 83, of Wintersville, OH, passed away Thursday February 18, 2021 at Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.

She was born May 17, 1937 in Brilliant, OH, a daughter of the late Calvin and Anna Mae (Bateman) Mayle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Mathias; a son, Richard Reed; four brothers, Calvin "Whip", Robert "Fuzzy", Lloyd "Fickle" and David Mayle; and two sisters, R. Ann Davis and Carrie Merritt.

Eleanor worked at JcPenny's and the former Denmark's before she got married in the early 1970's. She was Methodist by Faith.

Surviving are a son, Steven (Anne) Reed of Medina, OH; a daughter, Lynette (Dan) Telek of Mt. Vernon, OH; a brother, Charles (JoAnn) Mayle of Hopewell, VA; a sister, Gerri Hockenberry Reed of Steubenville, OH; five grandchildren, Lyndi, Krista, Steven, Kathryn and Kimberly; and a very special aide and caregiver, Paula Willis of Mingo Junction, OH.

In following with Eleanor's request graveside services will be private at New Alexandria Cemetery in Mingo Junction, OH.
