Douglas J. Shannon, 67, of Mingo Junction, Ohio, passed away Saturday October 31, 2026 in the emergency room at UPMC Trinity in Steubenville, OH.

He was born July 10, 1959, in Queens, NY, a son of the late Valentine J. and Aldine V. (Kennedy) Shannon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Pamela Shannon.

Doug taught at several schools along the East Coast, most recently serving as a substitute teacher at Steubenville Catholic Central. A faithful Christian and devoted parishioner of St. Agnes Catholic Church, he especially enjoyed gathering for fellowship after Mass. He was also a member of the Mingo Knights of Columbus #4361. Along with his faith and church community, Doug enjoyed traveling and the simple pleasure of a visit to McDonald’s.

Surviving are a sister Cindy (James) Fox of Hawthorne, NY and good friends, John and Theresa Fabian of Mingo Junction, OH.

On Saturday November 14th there will be memorial Funeral Liturgy with Mass at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. James M. Dunfee, celebrant. Private entombment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Steubenville.
