Curtis W. "Big Curt" Peterson, 75, of New Alexandria, OH, passed away Wednesday September 25, 2024 at Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.

He was born October 28, 1948, in Steubenville, OH a son of the late Wayne and Wilma (Rine) Peterson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Doug Peterson; and a sister, Michelle Tucker.

Big Curt retired from Weirton Steel after 40 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam from 1968 to 1970. He was a member of the Mingo Sportsman Club, and he loved to hunt and fish and do anything outdoors to spend time with his son. He was an avid Cleveland Browns fan even though they never had a winning season, they let him down every year for 75 years. His hobbies included watching TV, smoking and drinking iced tea.

Surviving are his loving wife, whom he never said no to for 52 years, Kathy (Bell) Peterson, whom he married May 6, 1972; a son, Kurt Peterson and his fiancé Taylor Hill of New Alexandria, OH; Colin Lee West of McKeesport, PA, whom he considered as a second son; two brothers, Michael (Patty) Peterson of Rayland, OH and Glen Peterson of Brilliant, OH. He will be cherished by several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. He will also be missed by his grandcats, Munky, Binx and Bones.

In following with Curtis's wishes there will be no services.
