Charles W. "Chuck" Williams, 81, of Brilliant, OH, passed away Sunday March 28, 2021 at home surrounded by his family.

He was born June 15, 1939 in Shirley, WV, a son of the late Guy and Stella (Pitts) Williams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Alva and Okey Williams; and three sisters, Wanna Lee Hayes, Sarah Reed and Lil Owens.

Chuck retired from the former Fort Steuben Metals in Weirton, where he was a welder for over 30 years. He was a member of the Rush Run Christian Union Church. Chuck enjoyed mowing grass and working on projects around his house.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Joan (Phillips) Williams, whom he married May 27, 1960; five children, Susan Williams of Brilliant, OH, Ellen Williams of Steubenville, OH, Doug Williams and his girlfriend Tammy Lowery of Mingo Junction, OH, Michelle (Joe) D'Andrea and Melonie (Bill) Mumaw, both of Brilliant, OH; a brother, Thomas (Carolyn) Williams of Middlebourne, WV; five grandchildren, Amanda (Todd) Morris, Travis Williams, Tyler Green, Michaela Williams and Dashel Mumaw; a great-grandson, Carter Morris; and many nieces and nephews, including Shelley Sweeney who was like a sister.

Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant, OH, where his funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Kenny Mossor, officiating. Interment will follow at New Alexandria Cemetery. Masks are required at the funeral home.
