Carmella L. "Carm" Wheaton, 89, of Mingo Junction, Ohio, passed away Friday August 11, 2017, at Country Club Manor Nursing Home, Steubenville.
She was born November 15, 1927 in Mingo Junction, Ohio a daughter of the late Valgean and Mary (Fortunato) Potenzina. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph L. Wheaton; and two brothers Rocco and Joseph Potenzina.
Carmella has worked as a clerk at McCauslen's Florist, Brzaley and Jundale Market and Arna's Pharmacy, all in Steubenville, Ohio. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church where she was a member of the Catholic Womens Club and sang in the choir. Carm enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
Surviving are a daughter, Nancy (Harold) Hanlon of Wintersville, Ohio; her twin sister, Angela Macre of Steubenville, Ohio; two grandchildren, John (Joanna) DiPietro and Yvonne (John) Hays; and three great-grandchildren, Alyssa DiPietro, Carsen Hays and Milanya DiPietro.
Friends will be received on Sunday, 2-4 & 6-8 at Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo Junction. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Church, Mingo, with Rev. Fr. James M. Dunfee, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Steubenville.
A Vigil Service will be held Sunday at 7:45 at the funeral home.
