Brenda L. Board, 86, of Brilliant, OH, passed away peacefully Friday June 12, 2026 at the Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville, OH.

She was born March 28, 1940, in Brilliant, OH, a daughter of the late Newton and Elizabeth L. “Betty” (Liston) Mayle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Perry “Keith” Mayle, Newton Royce “Sonny” Mayle and Sherley “Sam” Mayle; and two sisters, Nancy Blankenship and Bonnivere O. “Bonnie” Weldon.

Brenda retired from Lanica Nursing Home where she worked as a nurses aide for 15 years. She was a former member of the Brilliant Christian Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of Women’s Fellowship. Currently she is a member of Kolmont Community Chapel.

Surviving are two daughters, Rayne Board of Homosassa, FL and Melissa Wallman and her companion Gary Devore of Bloomingdale, OH; five grandchildren, Josh (Alice) Hanley, Zach (Erin) Hanley, Kailey (Dallas) Hanley, Alex Wallman and Sarah Wallman and five great-grandchildren

Friends will be received on Monday June 15th at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant from 2:00 p.m. until the time of her funeral service at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor Herb Fletcher, officiating.
