Barbara J. Palmer, 80, of Toronto, Ohio passed away Sunday April 3, 2016 at Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, Ohio.
She was born March 22, 1936 in Steubenville, Ohio, a daughter of the late W. Edward "Pap" and Helen V. (Smith) O'Dell. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bull" Palmer in 2005; a sister, Linda K. Gardner; and daughter, Muriel Dalrymple.
Barb has worked for Bank One, Levolor Blinds and Attorney Stern's office. She was a member of the Finley United Methodist Church in Steubenville, where she sang in the choir, and the Red Hat Society. Barb enjoyed traveling and doing anything and everything for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they were her life.
Surviving are six children, Nancy Lapinski of Columbus, Ohio, David (Christine) Burns of Oxford, PA, William (Michaela) Burns of Las Vegas, NV, Eric (Aleta) Palmer of Toronto, OH, Bobby (Jennifer) Palmer of Columbus, OH and Craig (Janet) Palmer of Salineville, OH; two brothers, Russell (Patricia) O'Dell of Mingo Junction, OH and Edward (Ola) O'Dell of Steubenville, OH; ten grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica, Steven, Morgan, Logan, Danielle, Samantha, Ashley, Jeffrey, and Billy; five great-grandchildren, Haley, Colin, Caden, Riley and Jacob; and seven nieces and nephews, Kemp, Taunya, Sue, Rusty, Jim, Ron, Steve .
Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo Junction, on Saturday April 9th from 10:00 a.m. until the time of her funeral services at 12:00 p.m. (noon), with Pastor Jerry Ernst, officiating. Interment will follow at New Somerset Christian Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed in Barb's memory to the Finley United Methodist Church, 958 Lincoln Ave., Steubenville, Ohio 43952.
