Barbara J. "Jeanie" Duska, 88, of Mingo Junction, OH, passed away peacefully Monday June 10, 2024 in her home.

She was born May 7, 1936 in Mingo Junction, OH, a daughter of the late John and Anna (Hoyda) Olexa. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew J. "Andy" Duska on February 26, 2012; an infant son, Timothy John Duska; a daughter, Geralyn O. McEwen; four brothers, Robert, James, and Thomas Olexa and an infant, John B. Olexa; and two sisters, Rosemary Schwamberger and Ruth Afek.

Jeanie was a homemaker and a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and the Catholic Women's Club. She loved flowers and enjoyed working in her outdoor gardens. She loved to cook and bake. She was known for her homemade cookies, nut rolls and traditional Slovak foods. She often made pies and cakes as gifts.

Surviving are two children, Andrea J. Duska and Michael (Jill) Duska, both of Mingo Junction, OH; a son-in-law, John McEwen of Gahanna, OH; a brother, John D. Olexa of Steubenville, OH; three grandchildren, Elizabeth (Adam) Shoemaker, Jacob (Devon) Duska and Andrew Duska; three great-grandchildren, Emily Shoemaker, Jack Henry Shoemaker, and Lucy Jean Duska; a sister-in-law, Maryann Geltz of Wexford, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Private services were held at St. Agnes Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. James M. Dunfee, celebrant. Entombment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Steubenville.
