Brettell
September 28, 1931 – February 26, 2018
Barbara L. Brettell, 86, of Mingo Junction, Ohio passed away suddenly Monday February 26, 2018 in her home.
She was born September 28, 1931 in Steubenville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Michael and Wilda E. (Hyatt) Weber. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William D. "Peckle" Brettell; a son-in-law, Jerry Minor; a brother; Michael "Don" Weber; and a special cousin, Dee Hoffman.

Barb always talked about her school days with her friends Peggy, Janet and Dee. She enjoyed telling the story of how her and her husband Peckle met while she was walking home from school in front of Dugan's Pool Hall, when she was 17 and he was 20. She liked to write poems, she enjoyed both telling and hearing a good joke, a nice vase of fresh cut flowers, singing at the kitchen window, feeding the birds and baking Christmas cookies, especially a good chocolate chip cookie. She made fudge at Christmas time, and shared it with half of Mingo. She also enjoyed making homemade noodles and pasta.
She will be forever missed by her two daughters, Robin (Donald) Brockway of Steubenville, OH and Kitsy Minor of Mingo Junction, OH; a brother, David A. Weber of Stockholm, NJ; four grandsons, Billy (Amanda) Brockway, Jamie Brockway, Tyler Minor and Cody Minor; two great-granddaughters, Julie and Haley Brockway; and many nieces and nephews that she loved.
Friends will be received on Friday from 2-8 p.m. at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo Junction, where her funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Kenn Sickle, officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Mingo Junction.
