Allan L. Hoagland, 61, of Rayland, OH, passed away suddenly on Wednesday September 8, 2021 at home.

He was born June 20, 1960 in Steubenville, OH. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard E. Hoagland.

Allan was a self-employed truck driver and he served his country in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed hunting and tinkering in his garage.

Surviving are his mother, Burlene (Bates) Hoagland and her husband Eddy Wittmer; his wife, Veronica "Red" (Barnes) Hoagland, whom he married November 30, 1996; a son, Shawn Allan Hoagland of Brilliant, OH; three brothers, Richard (Robin) Hoagland of Wakefield, VA, Senator Frank (Darla) Hoagland of Adena, OH, and Matthew (Kristie) Hoagland of Rayland, OH; a grandson, William Hoagland; three step-children, Melissa Nelson Shoulders and her husband, Dave Shoulders, Thelma "Elizabeth" Nelson, and John "JD" Barnes; four grandchildren, Lila Roe, Dalton Barnes, Harley Shoulders and David Shoulders; and two great-grandchildren, Max McEndree and A'mariana Campbell.

Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant on Saturday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of his funeral services at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor Charles "Sonny" Shoe, officiating.
