Violet M. “Ladybug” Haines, 76, of Georges Run, OH passed away Wednesday June 13, 2018 at home.
She was born December 30, 1941 in Wallace, WV, a daughter of the late Harry and Nola (Hurst) Watkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Haines.
Violet was a homemaker and she also worked in retail, nursing homes and was a bar maid in various places in the area. She was a member of the Brilliant American Legion Auxiliary.
Surviving are her companion and life partner, Harry R. “Rex” Blanchard of Mingo Junction, OH; four children, Terrie Barnhart of Weirton, WV, Lewis (Susie) Barnhart of Melbourne, FL, Marcia Barnhart of Mingo Junction, OH and Cindy Barber of Selma, NC; a brother, Willis Watkins of Wallace, WV; two sisters, Sharon Jo Fowler of Plano, TX and Debra (Rich) Rogers of Bridgeport, WV; seven Haines step-children, eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant where her funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. John D. Ater, officiating. Interment will follow at New Alexandria Cemetery.
There will be a legion auxiliary service at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
