Sylvia E. Jeffries

Sylvia E. Jeffries, 86, of Bloomingdale, OH passed away Friday October 6, 2017 at home.

She was born March 12, 1931 in Colliers, WV. She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Welshans; her mother, Freda Mae (Search) Welshans Haislet; her step-father, Charles “Jack” Haislet; her husband, James S. Jeffries, Sr.; a daughter, Joy Lee Jeffries; two brothers, William Welshans and Jimmy Haislet; and a sister, Doris Diamond.

Sylvia was a retired cashier and stocker for both Foodland and Kroger Co.. She enjoyed playing bingo.

Surviving are three sons, James S. Jeffries, Jr. of Richmond, OH, Charles Jeffries of Steubenville, OH, William (Tammy) Jeffries of Moundsville, WV; a sister, Bonnie (Arthur) Randalson of Amsterdam, OH; her special niece and caregiver, Paula (companion Joey Wilson) Willison, with whom she resided; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant, on Monday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of her funeral services at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. George Romage, officiating. Private burial at Center Chapel Union Cemetery.
