Mary Ann Thompson, 68, of Mingo Junction, Ohio, passed away peacefully Thursday September 13, 2018 at home.
She was born July 1, 1950 in Steubenville, Ohio a daughter of the late Donald and Anna (Timcho) Coen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sister-in -laws, Joyce Thompson, Josephine Oliver and Janet Dodson.
Mary Ann worked as a laborer at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.; she was also an LPN working at The Carriage Inn and then at Dr. Tamboli’s office. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church. She enjoyed painting and doing crafts; she was an excellent baker; and most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Surviving are her husband, William F. “Bill” Thompson, whom she married on April 28, 1970; a son, William P. (Trish) Thompson of Myrtle Beach, SC; a daughter, Marcy (Mike) Meyers of The Colony, TX; four siblings, Barbara (Joe) McNerney of Williamsport, PA, Donald Coen of Steubenville, OH, Kathleen Jackson of Moundsville, WV and John “Doc” (Tammy) Coen of Mingo Junction, OH; two grandchildren, Gauge and Zaryn Niemi; and seven brother and sister-in-laws, James R. “Sonny” Thompson of Imperial Beach, CA, Hattie Hays of Wintersville, OH, Jeannette (Lou) Panebianco, Mary (Joe) Ross, Albert (Maryann) Thompson, Rhonda (Jim) Boyuk all of Mingo Junction, OH and Timothy (Maggie) Thompson of Jacksonville, AL.
Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo Junction, on Saturday from 5-8 p.m. and also on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of her funeral services at 3:00 p.m. with Don Coen, officiating.
